Full Job Description

The Geller Law Group is an award-winning, small law firm in Northern Virginia looking to hire a full-time legal assistant to support our estate planning and probate teams. Our mission is to provide clients with an exemplary level of legal services and expertise at an affordable rate. Our firm’s mission and size lend itself to the personal and prompt service one expects from their legal counsel.

Details

Must be a self-starter and possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Our expectations include that you have the ability to quickly learn new tasks, think ahead, be detail and deadline oriented, and work well with others.

Required Skills & Experience

3+ years of legal assistant experience.
Must be able to report to the DC location at least twice a week.
Must have experience working within an estate planning and/or probate team.
Previous experience screening prospective clients, answering initial inquiries and setting appointments/consults, and running conflict checks.
Correspondence drafting and transmission documents via various platforms.
Comfortable with Microsoft Office applications and Adobe.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a high-paced environment.
Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a practice group.

Preferred Skills & Experience

Comfortable working in a hybrid environment and familiar with the technologies involved in a virtual environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Previous experience working with estate planning and/or probate teams.
Experience working in Clio Grow and Manage.
Ability to relate to people in a variety of situations.
Highly trustworthy and discreet; and
Common sense and good judgment.

Salary Range: $45,000 – $55,000 [Compensation commensurate with experience.]

Duties Include

Scheduling of consultations.
Performing conflict checks.
Opening of matters and associated files.
Receiving, saving, and forwarding correspondence.
Preparing and transmission of filings.
Client communication.
Calendaring and tracking deadlines.
Organization of client files.
General legal assistant duties; and
Other duties as required.
