Full Job Description

We are a small law firm, primarily focusing on Business and Estate Planning, seeking a Legal Assistant / Legal Secretary for a part time position approximately 32 hours a week Mon- Thurs. between 9 and 5, with the possibility of occasional Fridays. If you are looking to add some part time days to your schedule or don't need full time our position this is a great environment that and it could be a great fit for you. We could also flexibile on days and times for the right person. This position is perfect for someone with another part time job or other income source.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Process incoming mail and fax communications, prepare and process all outgoing mail

Answer multiple phone lines

Manage law firm calendar

Prepare and process new client files, close case files, update case information, scan case documents

Communicate with clients, vendors, opposing counsel, and court/government clerks.

Prepare client correspondence and legal documents.

Maintain legal files (paper and electronic)

Most likely you will be the first impression for our clients when they come to the office or call in, so your professionalism, courtesy, and friendliness are very important.

Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook. Abobe Acrobat experience a plus. Candidate must also have strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, have excellent grammar and finally must be able to multi-task.

Candidate should have a complete understanding of the importance of discretion & confidentiality, and at times some jokester moments, a good sense of humor is a must. We're a small firm where the right personality is most appreciated. A positive, creative and problem solving person would fit in best and someone who is excited at the possibility to be given other responsibilities and willing to learn.

We are a drama free, smoke free, drug free office. The position is paid hourly starting at $20.00 an hour DOE. There will be no medical benefits and PTO will accrue according to current employment laws.

We are looking to fill this position immediately, ideally starting the last week of July for training. Please do not call, we will review all submissions and call to set up interviews. Anyone who calls will immediately be taken out of consideration for this position.

Finally, we are looking for someone long term who can grow with our firm and increase responsibilities, this is not a summer position or internship.
