About Us

Villegas & Cefo is a litigation boutique with an emphasis on intellectual property and complex commercial matters. Most of our work is federal in nature. Although we are small, our cases are of the complexity and size as those found in large international firms.

Job Description

We are seeking patent litigation lawyers. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent research and writing skills, and have high technical and analytical aptitude. This position will be hybrid, with most work being fully remote.

Key Responsibilities

Possesses strong attention to detail and good interpersonal skills
Demonstrates a great work ethic and an ability to work productively both independently and cooperatively with other members of the team
Produces high quality legal work and provides excellent client services
Develops new business ideas through group and individual efforts
Manages day-to-day and strategic aspects of multiple legal matters at different stages of progression, from inception to conclusion
Complies with the highest ethical standards of the legal profession

Qualifications

Required Education: Juris Doctor and any undergraduate or graduate degree
Excellent credentials
Required Licenses and/or Certifications: Licensed to practice law in good standing in one or more jurisdictions where the Firm conducts business; must maintain applicable license renewal and CLE requirements
Requires Experience: At least 3+ years of patent litigation experience, with at least some of that time at Big Law
Business requirements: as an associate, simply an entrepreneurial spirit

Work Environment

Flexible schedule, including remote. However, at times, litigation deadlines are demanding and applicant must be prepared to accommodate last minute and weekend assignments
Travel Required: Less than 15%
Willingness to learn new skills.
Everyone from the founders to the newest employee are expected to assist where needed
