Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Cook to join our small family style Assisted Living Facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation with a background in a commercial kitchen being a plus. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences by preparing high-quality meals while adhering to food safety standards to our 16 residents.

We are a Victorian Mansion converted into an Assisted Living Facility in 1899. We truly are a small home that acts like a big family. The hours are 6:00am-2:00pm.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu plans.
Assist in menu planning, taking into consideration dietary restrictions and seasonal ingredients.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and high-quality food presentation.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, assisting with ordering as necessary.
Adapt recipes for special dietary needs as required by the dietary department or customer requests.
All of the above are primarily handled by our Chef

Experience

Proven experience as a Cook in a restaurant or fine dining setting is preferred.
Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations within the food industry. Department of Health Regulations for Adult Living Facilities
Familiarity with various cooking techniques, ingredients, equipment, and procedures within the kitchen environment.
Strong organizational skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
A culinary degree or relevant certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
