Full Job Description

Job Overview

The Private Athletic Trainer & Wellness Specialist will provide personalized wellness, injury prevention, movement optimization, fitness programming, and recovery support in a private setting. This position requires exceptional professionalism, flexibility, discretion, and a service-oriented mindset. The successful candidate will be available on an on-call basis and willing to travel domestically and internationally as needed to support the client's health and wellness goals. The selected candidate will provide services as an independent contractor.

This is a confidential search for a private client. Additional details regarding the client, work environment, and compensation will be shared with qualified candidates during the interview process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Conduct movement, mobility, and wellness assessments to develop individualized fitness, recovery, and injury prevention programs.

2. Design and implement personalized exercise, strength, flexibility, mobility, and conditioning programs aligned with the client's goals.

3. Provide recovery support, including stretching, soft tissue techniques (within certification), and recovery protocols to promote performance and overall wellbeing.

4. Monitor progress and adjust programs to optimize performance, mobility, and injury prevention.

5. Recognize potential injuries or health concerns and coordinate referrals to physicians, physical therapists, or other healthcare providers when appropriate.

6. Coordinate wellness services and communicate with authorized healthcare providers as needed while maintaining appropriate records.

7. Travel domestically and internationally to provide wellness, fitness, and recovery support.

8. Maintain responsiveness to wellness and recovery needs, including availability outside of traditional business hours.

9. Approach all responsibilities with a proactive, service-oriented mindset, developing a thorough understanding of the client's preferences, routines, and wellness goals to deliver highly personalized support. Special projects and assignments as business dictates

10. Responsible for creation, maintenance and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by Confidentiality and Privacy Standards, in accordance with Mass Regulations on Personal Identity Regulations and HIPAA.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, or a related field.

· Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) preferred; Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Certified Personal Trainer (NASM, NSCA, ACSM), or comparable credentials will also be considered.

· Minimum of 5–6 years of experience in athletic training, sports performance, executive wellness, concierge healthcare, or private client services.

· Experience designing individualized fitness, mobility, recovery, and injury prevention programs.

· Ability to recognize injuries and coordinate appropriate medical referrals.

· Valid passport and ability to travel domestically and internationally on short notice.

· Exceptional communication skills, professionalism, discretion, and service orientation.

· Experience supporting executives, professional athletes, high-profile individuals, or private clients preferred.

· Must possess excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

· Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) with active certification and any required state licensure preferred.

· Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Certified Personal Trainer (NASM, ACSM, NSCA), Functional Movement Screen (FMS), Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), or other relevant performance and wellness certifications preferred.
