Job Title – Meat Distribution Sales Representative - 5+ Years Experience Required

Reports to – Executive Vice President

FLSA Status – Exempt

Department – Executive / Administrative

Prepared by/Date – Human Resources 1/2023

Back Up – Executive Vice President

Summary: The VP of Sales analyzes costs, negotiates contract details, and offers strategies and solutions to help the company better manage costs on protein goods and vendor services. Additional duties include managing inventory, tracking orders, resolving issues concerning price disputes, and making bids for a vendor's services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

DUTIES

Safeguards that the supply chain needs of the Company are met in a timely manner and cost-effective manner. Ensuring the business are getting the best value regarding quality and price,
Review’s cost develops relationships with vendors and suppliers and offers suggestions for where and how much raw material to buy.
Negotiates contract renewals, places bids to obtain new vendors, discusses pricing, and monitors all aspects of the terms of the contracts.
Maintains an inventory of raw material, deciding when to make purchases ensuring the flow of goods remains positive.
Chooses how much raw material to keep on hand and tracks which supplies are consumed fastest.
Resolves pricing conflict and places bids with different vendors as required.
Places and tracks orders with all vendors and suppliers.
Works closely with the projects team to understand details of procurement requirements.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Visible supporter of the mission, vision, and values of the Company.

Other Responsibilities:

Communicates effectively and courteously with all contacts -- internal and external.
Maintains current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures.
Meets all applicable safety requirements for the position and work environment including prompt reporting of injury.
Organizes workload throughout the day to meet project timelines and deadlines.

BRC / Food Safety Responsibilities:

Responsible for ensuring product safety during processing and maintaining the integrity and authenticity of our high-quality products. Also responsible for ensuring the products meet all legal requirements.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree in business administration, or related field preferred.
5 years’ experience for a progressively growing Company.
Extensive experience of developing business specific contracts and agreements.
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities, delegate tasks, and think and plan.
Quality orientation and attention to detail.
History of high-performance teams and a strong team player.
Computer Skills: basic knowledge of Windows, and Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Word, and Outlook).

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand and walk throughout the day for up to 8 hours; use hands and fingers to operate machinery and equipment, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; requires close, distant and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus with or without corrective lenses or other appropriate accommodation of sight disability; hearing and speech within normal ranges; and frequent lifting and/or moving of up to 25 pounds. Personal Protective Equipment is also always required when needed.
