Full Job Description

About us

We are a small, family run fish processing plant in rural Alaska. Join our family and team for a summer adventure! We are looking for a floor manager to join our team. The Floor Manager is responsible for maintaining an efficient, safe, and effective processing line and for working with other department managers to ensure that staff is allocated to each area for optimal production on a daily and sometimes hourly basis. The Floor Manager oversees all area leads and jumps in to help with any task when needed.

When not doing these tasks, helping in all other processing related tasks is expected. It is long days on your feet (10-12 hour days are common, 14-16 hour days also happen). You will get a lot of overtime hours. Season is May-Sept but we would need you to arrive end of April.

Specific Job Functions:

Arrives to work early to make sure line leads are set for the start of processing and checks in throughout the day to see where help is needed.
Stays until the end of the shift to make sure all the scrub down is completed and everyone has left for the day. Sometimes may leave before the case-up is done. When needed, relieve the production manager and stay until case-up is done. A full shift may be upwards of 16-18 hours depending on fish load.
Coordinates with Owner about SSOP & HACCP paperwork that needs to be completed.
Oversees the environment at the bunkhouse and reports any problems to HR.
Answers and handles any HR concerns after hours and then reports to HR the following morning.
Frequents the processing line, the sealing areas, case-up, and the offload dock to see where help is needed and/or to help move things along more efficiently.
Checks in often with production manager and owners and leads for any other job duties/last-minute needs.
Other duties as assigned with potential for frequent change throughout the season.
Willingness to do what is needed at any given time - anything from scrubbing totes to filleting fish to making bags to making boxes. Most importantly, keep the line and fish moving in a quick and efficient manner.
Responsible for minute by minute production quality and QC.

Salary: we offer a starting base rate with ample overtime and bonuses. Starting rate DOE.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
