Sine Engineering is the leading global company developing advanced radio communication and navigation systems. We are building mission-critical infrastructure for the multi-million drone era.
Here, you will work with cutting-edge technologies tested in the most challenging environments in the world, and watch your ideas evolve into an ecosystem that safeguards humanity.
We are seeking a highly motivated Pre-Sales Engineer with a strong background in radio theory, communications and electronics. The ideal candidate will not only have technical expertise in radio communications planning and employment but also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to support our sales team in delivering advanced UAV solutions.
This role requires someone who can operate comfortably between engineering detail and customer-facing communication. The ideal candidate should understand the underlying technical principles well enough to explain not only what the system does, but why it works, where its limitations are, and how its capabilities apply to real operational needs.
You will work closely with sales, engineering, customers, and international technical teams to translate operational requirements into practical system recommendations. Our U.S. office is seeking specialists with the ambition not just to create a product, but to help shape the world of the future.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the technical bridge between engineering, sales, and customers by translating complex UAV, RF, and communications concepts into clear, practical language for a broad range of audiences.
- Develop a strong understanding of the company’s products, architectures, and underlying engineering principles in order to accurately explain system capabilities, limitations, and tradeoffs.
- Explain RF and radio communications concepts such as propagation, link reliability, antenna selection, line-of-sight performance, interference, electronic warfare (EW) considerations, polarization, bandwidth, and system range in a way that is understandable to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Work closely with the sales team to understand customer requirements, operational needs, and technical constraints, to help shape appropriate system recommendations.
- Assist in evaluating customer use cases and identifying how system configuration, RF environment, payload selection, power requirements, software interfaces, and operational constraints may affect performance.
- Translate customer feedback, field observations, and sales team input into clear technical notes for engineering teams to support product improvement, documentation, and future development.
- Maintain awareness of modern UAV technology, RF communications, EW considerations, and autonomous systems to support accurate and credible customer engagement.
Skills and Experience:
- Proven background in RF theory and radio communication fundamentals, including propagation, link budgets, path loss, antenna behavior, polarization, interference, bandwidth, noise, and practical range limitations.
- Practical knowledge of electronics, wiring, RF cabling, transmission power, power electronics, batteries, and general field troubleshooting.
- Experience with electrical or RF test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, or Vector Network Analyzers.
- Familiarity with UAV communication systems, including command and control links, telemetry, video transmission systems, antennas, radios, and ground control interfaces.
- Working knowledge of electronic warfare considerations as they relate to UAV operations, including jamming, interference, spectrum awareness, datalink resilience, and contested RF environments.
- Ability to evaluate technical tradeoffs involving RF performance, range, latency, bandwidth, payload requirements, power management, environmental conditions, and operational constraints.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess technical issues, identify likely causes, and recommend practical next steps.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical notes, system summaries, configuration guidance, and customer-facing technical explanations.
- Comfortable working in a cross-functional environment with sales, engineering, operations, customers, and international technical teams.
- Ability to learn complex product architectures, technical standards, configuration methods, and engineering workflows.
- General understanding of defense, security, public safety, government, or mission-critical technology environments is preferred.
Nice to have:
- Hands-on UAV piloting, assembly, tuning, payload integration, or flight-test experience is valuable but not required.
- Familiarity with UAV software ecosystems and communication interfaces such as ArduPilot, INAV, Betaflight, QGroundControl, Mission Planner, MAVLink, or similar platforms.
- Prior experience in technical sales engineering, pre-sales engineering, field applications engineering, systems engineering, RF engineering, UAV integration, or defense technology.
Join our dynamic team and help shape the future of UAV technology by bridging the gap between advanced engineering and customer success. If you are passionate about UAV systems and have a knack for technical sales, we encourage you to apply.
