About Us

Casamara is a refined, contemporary dining destination within Washington, D.C.’s premier hospitality landscape. Known for thoughtful storytelling through food, exceptional service, and a dedication to excellence, we aim to create experiences that are warm, creative, and memorable. Our pastry program supports both our main restaurant and rooftop lounge with beautifully executed desserts, pastries, and specialty items aligned with seasonal menus and brand identity.

We are currently seeking a Pastry Cook to join our culinary team and contribute to an elevated dessert and bakery program that enhances every guest experience.

Position Summary

The Pastry Cook is responsible for producing high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked items for Casamara and Casamara Rooftop according to established recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines. This role works closely with the Pastry Chef and Executive Chef to ensure consistency, creativity, and efficiency in all pastry operations.

Responsibilities

Prepare, bake, and plate a variety of pastries, desserts, and specialty items for restaurant service, private dining, and rooftop events.
Follow precise recipes, portioning, and presentation standards.
Assist in the development and testing of new menu items and seasonal offerings.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry station, following all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Execute prep lists accurately and efficiently while maintaining product quality.
Monitor ingredient freshness, rotate stock, and communicate any shortages or equipment needs.
Support larger culinary operations during high-volume services, banquets, or special events.
Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure seamless service and timely execution.

Qualifications

1–2 years of experience in a pastry or bakery environment preferred; hotel or high-end restaurant experience is a plus.
Strong understanding of basic pastry techniques, baking fundamentals, and ingredient handling.
Ability to follow detailed recipes and maintain consistency.
Strong attention to detail, artistic eye, and passion for pastry innovation.
Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to creating exceptional guest experiences.
ServSafe or Food Handler certification preferred.
