Full Job Description

Full-time (12 month) position.

Principal will lead staff in implementation of quality instruction; ensure a safe, pleasant and effective educational atmosphere; provide discipline and enforce school policy; positively impact student achievement by providing educational support and assistance to teachers, administrators and students; and assist in producing a school climate that is safe and nurturing.

Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Education
Valid PA Teaching Certificate with five years of successful teaching experience
Valid PA Administrative Certificate
Professional experience in elementary, middle or secondary schools
Satisfactory work record, FBI, criminal and child abuse clearances
Valid PA driver’s license

Duties and Responsibilities:

Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks.
Interact with students in a constructive manner to encourage each individual to perform at their highest level.
Manage building staff and provide general supervision to students.
Assign teachers to classrooms and students to classes.
Create master schedule to effectively utilize resources.
Evaluate performance and effectiveness of programs and staff.
Facilitate in-service training and professional development.
Resolve staff issues and provide support to teachers.
Supervise extra-curricular activities.
Maintain relationships with parents, parent groups, school volunteers and outside agencies.
Participate in district-wide activities, in-services and committees.
Implement policy and procedure changes from the Board, or the State and Federal level at the building level.
Create and encourage a building vision.
Direct staff in addressing needs of students through differentiated instruction.
Maintain instructional and curricular leadership through development of programs and expectations.
Monitor student achievement.
Establish priorities for educational materials to meet the needs of students and prepare the school budget, working with Business Manager on budgeting and purchasing.
Work with Central Administration to coordinate processes for effective functioning of the school.
Work with Director of Special Education to assure appropriate programming for special needs and at-risk students.
Determine staffing needs and submit recommendations to Central Administration.
Insure quality instruction is taking place in all classrooms.
Manage physical plant in terms of safety.
Enforce district policies and administrative regulations.
Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional and technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
