Full Job Description

Job Overview

The Procurement Assistant is responsible for the strategic procurement of materials and specialized services requiring technical expertise. This position manages vendor sourcing, pricing negotiations, purchase order administration, and supplier relationships while ensuring compliance with company policies and supporting project and company objectives. In addition, the role leads refrigeration product resale efforts by preparing quotations, processing orders, coordinating deliveries, and developing strong customer and vendor relationships that drive sales growth, customer satisfaction, and the timely, cost-effective fulfillment of project requirements.

Duties

Maintain purchased items and purchase order data in the ERP (ViewPoint) system
Administer purchase order actions (reschedules / cancels / expedites / confirmations / supplier exceptions)
Administration and maintenance of suppliers’ qualification data (vendor management)
Perform price analysis of supplier proposals
Purchase requisitioned materials after obtaining and evaluating vendor quotes.
Review invoices prior to final approval by project management
Review and inform project managers of new materials and sources, as well as material price trends
Communicate with project management, project supervision and shop supervision to ensure accurate material requisition
Leads resale product efforts to include sourcing, quoting, negotiations, tracking, and shipping
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Associate’s Degree in related field is preferred
One or more years of purchasing experience (mechanical construction industry preferred)
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Well organized, detail-oriented and highly motivated
Strong data entry skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
