Founded in Owings Mills, MD to provide solutions to meet the Enhanced Nutrient Removal requirements of the Chesapeake Bay watershed, the Company is expanding to deliver its cutting-edge technologies to the North American water infrastructure market.

Position Summary

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for procuring materials, equipment and services and managing inventory in order to meet production schedules and customer expectations.
Reports to: COO
Location: Owings Mills, MD
Hours: Full time, Salaried Position
Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 per year

Job Responsibilities

Make purchases based on inventory standards and customer orders; Prepare and process purchase orders for materials, supplies, equipment, and outgoing freight.
Establish and maintain appropriate inventory levels in the MRP/Inventory Management System to support ongoing production.
Identify, develop and maintain relationships with vendors; Evaluate vendor performance and implement vendor corrective action when necessary.
Track or follow-up on timing of critical material deliveries.
Develop cost effective purchasing strategies; Develop and implement purchasing procedures.
Collaborate with sales, manufacturing, engineering, project management, and accounting to solve issues.
Administer MRP/Inventory Management System including workflow management, data management and support to achieve efficiency.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Skills

Understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts including inventory control
Proficient in using a MRP, ERP or Inventory Management System
Knowledge of materials used in Company’s products such as valves, pumps, and piping/pipe fittings
Excellent organization and written and oral communication skills
Critical thinking skills; Teamwork oriented
Demonstrated leadership skills
Strong sense of urgency and accountability
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office programs

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related field required
At least seven (7) years of experience in purchasing

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
