Mechanical Engineering Assistant (Full-Time, Permanent)

Arcadia Test designs and manufactures high-precision test fixtures and automated test equipment for the aerospace, automotive, medical, and electronics industries. We’re looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Engineering Assistant to support the development, prototyping, and production of custom mechanical test solutions.
This is a hands-on, entry-level role with on-the-job training. You’ll work with experienced designers and machinists while learning SolidWorks and engineering documentation in a manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with creating accurate 2D drawings and 3D models in SolidWorks for prototype and production test fixtures.
- Generate drawing packages and support revision control and configuration management.
- Perform hands-on assembly and functional verification of fixtures and subassemblies.
- Collaborate with designers, machinists, and quality team members daily.
- Help source mechanical and electronic components for projects.
- Follow checklists, processes, and engineering standards to maintain quality.

Requirements
- Prior work experience in any field.
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new software.
- Good English communication skills, both verbal and written (Spanish is a plus).
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, sit, stand, bend, and kneel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing or hands-on technical environment.
- 0–1+ years of SolidWorks or CAD drafting experience (personal or school projects count).
- Experience sourcing parts or working with bills of materials.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
