Full Job Description

Human Resources Generalist – Talent Acquisition

Location: Charlotte, NC
Reports To: Director of Human Resources

Position Summary

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for leading full-cycle recruiting efforts while providing day-to-day human resources support for employees and managers. This position serves as the primary recruiting partner for hiring managers, develops innovative talent acquisition strategies, and helps ensure a positive candidate experience from sourcing through onboarding. In addition to recruiting, this role supports employee relations, onboarding, performance management, compliance, training, HR administration, and other HR initiatives.

The ideal candidate is an energetic, customer-focused HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing and industrial environment and enjoys building strong relationships with employees and leaders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lead full-cycle recruitment for exempt and non-exempt positions across multiple departments.
Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and develop effective recruiting strategies.
Draft and post job openings on internal and external job boards.
Source candidates through LinkedIn, networking, employee referrals, career fairs, professional organizations, colleges, and recruiting platforms.
Screen resumes, conduct phone interviews, coordinate interviews, and facilitate candidate evaluations.
Guide hiring managers through the interview and selection process.
Prepare employment offers and coordinate pre-employment requirements including background checks, drug testing, and employment verification.
Maintain applicant tracking records and recruiting metrics.
Develop talent pipelines for critical and hard-to-fill positions.
Build relationships with local colleges, technical schools, workforce development organizations, and community partners.
Continuously evaluate recruiting effectiveness and recommend process improvements.
Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation.
Serve as a resource for employees regarding company policies, benefits, and HR procedures.
Assist managers with employee relations matters while ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws.
Support performance management processes, employee development initiatives, and succession planning efforts.
Assist with investigations involving employee concerns or policy violations.
Maintain employee records and recruiting data within the HRIS and Applicant Tracking System, ensuring data accuracy and timely processing of personnel transactions.
Assist with benefits enrollment and employee questions.
Support HR compliance activities including I-9 administration, EEO reporting, and required employment documentation.
Assist with policy implementation and employee communications.
Participate in employee engagement initiatives and company events.
Support training and development programs.
Generate reports and analyze HR metrics.
Assist with additional HR projects and initiatives as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience.
Demonstrated success managing full-cycle recruiting.
Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
Experience using Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
Strong interviewing and candidate assessment skills.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

SHRM-CP or PHR certification.
Manufacturing or industrial industry experience.
Multi-state recruiting experience.
Experience using applicant tracking systems and sourcing tools, including LinkedIn Recruiter.
Experience supporting both hourly and salaried workforces.
Experience participating in career fairs, workforce development partnerships, and campus recruiting.
Experience using Workday Recruiting, Workday HCM, and/or ADP Workforce Now is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work.
Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
Ability to travel locally for recruiting events, career fairs, and occasional company meetings.
Occasional travel (up to 10%) to other HIESA locations as business needs require.
