Full Job Description

Responsibilities and Duties: Prepare for the delivery of appropriate instruction for the Medical Assisting Standards in accordance with department goals and objectives following proven procedures.Organize and deliver instruction sequentially following the most current Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Standards outlined in the Medical Assisting occupational area under the Health Cluster and utilizing Competency Based Education methods and techniques as appropriate to individual student learning styles and abilities. Provide quality instruction relative to all aspects of Health and Safety as they relate to the Medical Assisting Industry.Provide instruction and organizational collaboration in the following areas of this trade: skills and knowledge associated with medical assisting, clinical hour requirements, recording, and partnerships, industry quality standards, problem solving, training, safety, and proper use of industry equipment and fundamentals of medical assisting. Provide the latest safety training to students.Display and promote safe working practices at all times.Use methods of instruction that are welcoming, motivating and student centered.Create an environment that is conducive to learning.Initiate and participate in departmental efforts to integrate instruction Attend curriculum development, departmental, staff, and other required meetings.Participate in activities that promote the best interest of our students and our school.Comply with rigorous standards for professional improvement to keep current with modern technology and pedagogyCooperate with the department head and/or Vocational Director in fulfilling the mission of the department and institution. Assist the CTE Director and/or colleagues with tasks related to budget development, program advisory committee logistics, curriculum development and Industry Recognized Credentials (IRC) related to local, state and national assessments.Maintain decorum and control of assigned students for the purposes of enhancing learning and ensuring a safe and healthful environment in the classroom and throughout the school.Abide by school procedures, rules and directives.Update student accomplishments and competency tracking for student portfolios.Become familiar with the school's systems and operating procedures.Must adhere to strict confidentiality practices and policies at all times when accessing and discussing sensitive student information.Utilize school support services as needed.
