Position Summary

Join a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness by connecting individuals and families with safe, stable housing and supportive services that promote long-term self-sufficiency. Through partnerships with federal, state, local, and private funders, the organization administers a diverse portfolio of housing and human services programs designed to improve lives, strengthen communities, and expand access to permanent housing opportunities.

The organization is entering an exciting new chapter of growth and transformation through a comprehensive strategic reorganization designed to strengthen its impact, enhance operational excellence, and position the agency for long-term sustainability. As part of this initiative, the organization has created the new position of Director of Finance & Operations to provide executive leadership for its financial and operational functions while supporting new programmatic priorities, organizational effectiveness, and future growth.

Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, external auditors, and the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors, the Director of Finance & Operations provides strategic and operational leadership for the organization's financial management systems, accounting operations, grants administration, facilities management, and organizational infrastructure. This position is responsible for ensuring the organization's financial integrity, maintaining compliance with federal, state, and private funding requirements, strengthening internal controls, and developing efficient administrative systems that support mission delivery.

The Director supervises the Controller, Accounts Payable, Grants Management, and facilities functions while serving as a strategic partner to executive leadership in modernizing financial and operational practices. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in implementing organizational improvements, supporting innovation, and building the financial and administrative capacity necessary to advance the organization's mission and strategic vision for the future.

Position Summary
The Director of Finance & Operations provides strategic and operational leadership for the organization's financial management systems, accounting operations, grants administration, facilities management, and organizational infrastructure. Working closely with the CEO, external auditors, and the Finance Committee of the Board, this position ensures financial integrity, compliance with grant requirements, and efficient day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree or CPA preferred.

· 7–10 years of progressively responsible nonprofit finance, grants management, accounting, budgeting, and operations leadership experience.

· Experience with HUD, VA, or other federal grant programs strongly preferred.
