Full Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Provides basic patient care under the direction of the physician. Facilitates patient intake, records patient treatment data necessary for use by internal departments and answers general inquiries. Assists the Consultation Manager in assigned projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Perform basic patient care tasks under the direction of the physician. Including but not limited to patient consultations, checking vital signs, administering medications, and observing patient responses.
Record patient treatment data in patient’s medical file. Update accordingly and verify for accuracy and completeness.
Reviews patient administrative information for accuracy and completeness.
Provides necessary follow up to ensure patient’s intake has been properly facilitated; may require verification by contacting insurance companies or referring physicians.
Scans copies of completed intake and treatment paperwork into electronic patient medical file.
Assists Front Desk by conducting intake interviews with new or readmitted patients to gather necessary administrative information, assisting patients in completing paperwork, and answers general inquiries.
Monitors cases in Pending exam status (Ramsoft) and facilitates completion.
Assists patients and GRC staff with patient file questions as they occur.
Performs other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE & SPECIFICATIONS:

Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
Basic computer literacy
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program (preferred)

SCHEDULE:

8 hour shift
Monday to Friday
Saturdays half-day as needed

EXPERIENCE:

Medical Assisting: 1 year (Preferred)
Customer Service: 2 years (Required)

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

Medical Assisting Certification (Preferred)
