Job Overview

East Coast Storage Equipment Co., Inc. is a nationwide leader in the design, supply, and installation of warehouse storage systems. We specialize in pallet racking, shelving, mezzanines, and complete warehouse storage solutions for distribution centers, manufacturers, and third-party logistics companies throughout the United States.

We are seeking an experienced CAD Technician with a background in the material handling industry who can create accurate warehouse layouts and production drawings while working closely with our sales team, project managers, customers, and structural engineers.

Responsibilities

Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings using software such as AutoCAD to support warehouse layout planning and system design.
Create schematics, system diagrams, and construction documents that clearly communicate design intent for warehouse projects.
Collaborate with project teams to integrate mechanical, electrical, and structural components into comprehensive designs.
Support the drafting of technical specifications for construction and system installation processes.
Conduct site visits as needed to verify measurements, oversee installation progress, and ensure design accuracy.
Design warehouse layouts using AutoCAD.
Prepare customer approval drawings and installation drawings.
Selective pallet rack

Steel shelving
Industrial mezzanines
Pick modules and warehouse storage systems
Maximize warehouse cube utilization while maintaining proper aisle widths and forklift access.
Coordinate with structural engineers to produce permit-ready drawings.
Review customer floor plans and warehouse dimensions.
Create accurate bills of material for estimating and purchasing.
Revise drawings based on customer comments and field conditions.
Assist the sales team with conceptual layouts and warehouse design recommendations.

Skills

Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, Rhinoceros 3D (Rhino), ArchiCAD, and SolidWorks.
Strong knowledge of schematic development, drafting standards, and construction documentation.
Familiarity with system design principles across warehouse operations, mechanical systems, and interior layouts.
Ability to produce detailed 2D drawings and 3D models that communicate complex ideas clearly.
Understanding of construction processes, material specifications, and project workflows related to warehouse systems.
