Full Job Description

Project Manager - Water and Sewer Conveyance and Systems

Description

This position will be responsible for managing activities and teams related to water transmission, water distribution, and wastewater collections systems projects and programs. The position also requires the continuing development and expansion of the firm’s current pipelines and conveyance practice in terms of areas of service, clients, and expertise. Projects will generally focus on: large diameter water transmission and sanitary sewer collection pipelines, waterline/sewer line replacement and rehabilitation projects, water distribution systems, sanitary sewer collection systems, force mains, and associated facilities, structures, and appurtenances. Areas of responsibility are provided below with an emphasis on Project Execution.

Specific areas of responsibility include the following, with other duties as assigned by senior management:

Plan, organize and direct project(s); including, the overall safety, cost, schedule and quality of assigned projects.
Provide managerial direction and work assignments.
Establish project teams, manage construction activities, ensure the efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff.
Provide performance feedback to department managers for project team members as appropriate.
Demonstrate creativity, foresight and mature judgment in anticipating and solving problems.
Establish and maintain relationships with prospective and existing clients.

Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of “Hands-On” Construction Management/Installation experience in water/wastewater pipeline projects is a non-negotiable, firm requirement.

This position requires:

Broad knowledge of water transmission mains, water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, force mains, utility structures, and related projects.
Broad exposure and experience coordinating and communicating with regulatory agencies.
Experience with pipeline hydraulics, pressure zones, pipe class, and capacity analysis.
Experience with pipeline alignment determination, ROW, materials selection, and optimization.
Proven ability to establish relationships with clients.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
The ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change with construction crews
Demonstrated success in project and/or program management.
Proficiency in the use of basic computer software (i.e., Microsoft Outlook, etc.)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
