Overview
M.D. Smith Construction is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our growing team.

We are a Tampa-based General Contractor focused on commercial construction and multifamily renovations. Through our affiliated divisions, we also provide custom residential construction, roofing, and HVAC services throughout the Tampa Bay area.

We are looking for a motivated, organized, and results-driven construction professional who can successfully manage projects from startup through closeout while maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and field teams.

This position offers the opportunity to work directly with company leadership, manage a diverse portfolio of projects, and play a key role in the continued growth of the company.

Compensation Package

Compensation is commensurate with experience, qualifications, and project management background. Typical compensation ranges from $90,000 to $140,000+ plus bonus opportunities.

Total compensation for this position is designed to reward performance.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Building Construction, Civil Engineering, or a closely related construction field
Minimum 3 years of Project Management experience with a General Contractor
Commercial construction experience required
Strong understanding of construction schedules, budgets, contracts, and project controls
Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software
Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of Project Management experience preferred
Multifamily renovation experience
Ground-up commercial construction experience
Experience with Procore, Buildertrend, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar software
OSHA 30 Certification

Outstanding candidates with less experience will be considered based on education, project experience, leadership ability, and overall qualifications.

Responsibilities

Manage construction projects from startup through closeout
Develop and maintain project schedules
Manage project budgets and cost forecasting
Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, clients, and field teams
Process RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
Conduct project meetings and site visits
Monitor quality, safety, and schedule performance
Manage project billing and cost reporting
Maintain client relationships and communication throughout the project lifecycle
Manage project closeout, punch lists, warranties, and final documentation
