Role Description: The Tax & Accounting Specialist is a full-time on-site role that will be responsible for preparing individual, corporate, partnership and other tax returns while ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulations. They will support tax planning initiatives by analyzing financial information, identifying tax saving opportunities, and assisting in the development of strategies to minimize future tax liabilities while relating to clients on a one-on-one basis. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining very accurate accounting records, reconciling accounts, payroll processing with monthly tax deposits and quarterly payroll tax returns, preparation of monthly sales tax returns, reviewing documentation for completeness and accuracy and client billing. The role also involves keeping current with law changes, responding to tax authority inquiries, collaborating with team members on client engagement and communicating clearly to clients regarding their tax filing, deadlines, required information and best course of action.

Qualifications:

· Strong knowledge of all levels of tax, tax preparation and accounting/bookkeeping with experience preparing various types of tax returns. CPA, EA (or working towards) with 5+ years’ experience would be ideal

· Understanding tax law, including the ability to research and interpret relevant regulations, upcoming changes and guidance

· Proficiency with tax and accounting software, Microsoft Excel and other office applications

· Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a client focused environment.

· Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain tax and accounting concepts clearly.

· Strong commitment to ethical standards, confidentiality and ongoing professional development.
