Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Systems Analyst to support a secure government digital platform. This role blends cloud platform administration, API quality assurance, and technical business analysis.
The ideal candidate is a technically fluent systems analyst who can support AWS/cloud platform operations, understand Terraform and DevSecOps workflows, validate RESTful and MuleSoft APIs, and work directly with stakeholders to clarify requirements, support BRD/TRD development, and ensure delivery teams understand what needs to be built and tested.
This is not a pure system administrator role, a pure QA tester role, or a pure business analyst role. The position is intentionally blended:
- 35% System Administration / Cloud Platform Support — AWS, Terraform, access, environments, DevSecOps coordination
- 35% API QA / Validation — RESTful APIs, MuleSoft, Postman, API behavior, integration testing
- 30% Business Analysis — requirements, stakeholder coordination, BRD/TRD support, acceptance criteria, documentation
This position is remote and requires an active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
Key Responsibilities
35% — System Administration / Cloud Platform Support
- Support administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and sustainment of cloud-based platform environments.
- Assist with AWS environment configuration, access management, deployment readiness, and operational support.
- Support Infrastructure as Code activities using Terraform or similar tools.
- Coordinate with DevSecOps engineers on CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, configuration management, and release support.
- Help document environment needs, access requirements, operational dependencies, and platform readiness criteria.
- Support issue triage related to cloud access, environments, configuration, deployments, and platform behavior.
- Participate in security and compliance support activities, including evidence gathering, vulnerability tracking, remediation coordination, and RMF/ATO-related documentation as needed.
35% — API QA / MuleSoft and RESTful API Validation
- Support testing and validation of RESTful APIs, including request/response behavior, status codes, payload structure, authentication, authorization, and error handling.
- Support testing and validation of MuleSoft APIs and integrations, including functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, and user acceptance support.
- Review Swagger/OpenAPI documentation, interface control documents, API specifications, and technical requirements to develop test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
- Use tools such as Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI tools, MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, SoapUI, Insomnia, or similar tools to validate API behavior.
- Support defect tracking, root cause analysis, retesting, and coordination with developers, DevSecOps, and platform teams.
- Help validate that delivered API functionality meets business, technical, security, and operational requirements.
- Assist with API troubleshooting by gathering logs, error messages, timestamps, endpoint details, request/response examples, and steps to reproduce.
30% — Business Analysis / Requirements / BRD and TRD Support
- Work with customers, government stakeholders, product owners, architects, engineers, and platform teams to understand business needs and translate them into clear requirements.
- Support discovery sessions, technical fit discussions, customer onboarding, requirements workshops, and stakeholder interviews.
- Develop and maintain requirements documentation, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, decision records, meeting notes, and delivery assumptions.
- Support BRD and TRD development by helping capture business needs, technical assumptions, data requirements, interface needs, and implementation considerations.
- Help bridge the gap between customer needs and engineering implementation by clarifying scope, dependencies, constraints, and expected outcomes.
- Identify gaps, open questions, risks, and dependencies that may affect delivery.
- Support customer-facing and internal documentation, including onboarding materials, SOPs, help desk guidance, release notes, and platform support documentation.
- Coordinate with delivery teams to ensure requirements, testing, and implementation remain aligned throughout the project lifecycle.
