A growing residential and light commercial HVAC company is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Manager to lead and develop a high-performing team of service technicians while delivering exceptional customer experiences.
This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the service department, ensuring technicians are properly trained, maintaining high service quality standards, improving operational efficiency, and driving department performance through coaching, accountability, and leadership.
The ideal candidate has a proven background managing residential HVAC service teams, excels in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys developing technicians while building a culture centered around safety, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
Lead, coach, and develop a team of residential HVAC Service Technicians.
Oversee the daily operations of the service department to ensure maximum efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
Conduct regular ride-alongs, field evaluations, and one-on-one coaching sessions to improve technician performance and technical skills.
Monitor and manage department KPIs, including revenue, average ticket, callback percentage, maintenance agreement conversions, technician productivity, customer satisfaction scores, and first-time fix rates.
Utilize ServiceTitan or similar home service software to review technician performance, dispatch efficiency, and operational reporting.
Ensure technicians follow company service standards, safety protocols, and best practices on every call.
Partner closely with Dispatch, Install, Sales, and Operations teams to ensure seamless communication and an outstanding customer experience.
Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new service technicians.
Identify training opportunities and implement ongoing technical and customer service development programs.
Resolve customer concerns professionally while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Manage scheduling priorities, staffing needs, and workflow to maximize technician utilization.
Hold the service team accountable to company goals, operational processes, and performance expectations.
Foster a positive, team-oriented culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and employee development.
5+ years of residential HVAC leadership or service management experience.
Proven experience leading and developing residential HVAC Service Technicians.
Strong knowledge of residential HVAC diagnostics, troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance, and customer service.
Experience using ServiceTitan or a similar home service CRM preferred.
Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
Ability to analyze operational metrics and improve department performance.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Valid driver's license.
Residential home service industry leadership experience.
Experience managing technician performance and departmental KPIs.
Strong understanding of service operations, dispatch coordination, and workflow optimization.
Experience improving technician productivity, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
Knowledge of maintenance agreement programs and technician-generated opportunities.
Experience building and developing high-performing service teams.
$100,000–$150,000 base salary (based on experience)
