Full Job Description

Position: Jobs Plus Program Support Coordinator

Reports to: Deputy Executive Director

Classification: Full-Time Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Exempt, Salary

This position is offered through the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority’s (CRHA) Resident Services Program. The Jobs Plus program works directly with public housing residents to assist individuals in becoming self-sufficient through community resources, employment, and training opportunities. The Jobs Plus Program Support Coordinator works with Jobs Plus staff to assist with program operations.

The Jobs Plus Program Support Coordinator will work closely with other staff to provide exceptional care and support to those we serve. They are respectful, patient, polite, impartial, and quick to follow up on promises. Most importantly, the Jobs Plus Program Support Coordinator is a person of integrity, accountability, and has an eye for technical details and heart for working with residents. This position will involve some on-the-job training.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES

Schedule and coordinate meetings, workshops, and activities for Jobs Plus participants, staff members, and partner organizations.
Greet residents and visitors arriving for appointments, creating a welcoming and supportive environment while they wait.
Provide community members with information about the Jobs Plus program, distribute program materials, and assist with scheduling appointments.
Direct residents to appropriate community resources and maintain updated informational materials from local partner organizations.
Provide administrative support to the Jobs Plus team, including data entry, filing, document preparation, and general office tasks.
Assist with coordinating weekly program activities and managing the scheduling needs of the Success Coach.
Record participant feedback, document community engagement efforts, and prepare reports on outreach activities and field observations.
Support Jobs Plus enrollment efforts through door-to-door outreach, canvassing, flyering, and community engagement activities to promote program opportunities and services.
Communicate sensitive and confidential information securely and with discretion, ensuring resident privacy and compliance with program policies.
Provide administrative support to program participants, including appointment reminders via phone calls and text messages, arranging transportation, printing resumes, and other employment-related assistance.
Maintain accurate records of participant interactions, appointments, referrals, and program activities.
Collaborate with staff and community partners to ensure participants receive timely access to services and resources.
Assist the Program Manager, Case Manager, and other team members with additional duties and special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED required.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with residents, staff, community partners, and stakeholders.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Commitment to serving low-income individuals, families, and diverse communities with professionalism, respect, and cultural sensitivity.
Strong customer service skills and the ability to create a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for program participants.
Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain strict confidentiality.
Knowledge of confidentiality standards and professional ethics related to participant and resident information.
Ability to conduct community outreach activities, including door-to-door engagement, canvassing, and distribution of program materials.
Flexibility to perform additional duties and support program operations as needed.
Experience with database management, data entry, record maintenance, and calendar scheduling systems.
Knowledge of affordable housing, public housing programs, workforce development, employment services, or related community-based programs preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
Ability to move throughout office, residential, and community settings to support program operations and participant engagement.
Ability to conduct door-to-door outreach, canvassing, and flyering activities, including walking moderate distances and climbing stairs in residential buildings.
Ability to lift, carry, and transport program materials, office supplies, outreach materials, and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, printers, copiers, telephones, and scanners.
Ability to use a computer and perform repetitive hand movements for typing, data entry, and recordkeeping.
Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and through electronic communication platforms.
Ability to travel locally within the community to attend meetings, conduct outreach activities, and participate in events as required.
Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends to support program activities, resident engagement events, and community outreach efforts.

Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m
