Full Job Description

This is a newly developed position created to support our expanding Mobile Medical Unit services. As part of this initiative, the Clinic Receptionist will travel throughout the island alongside a provider to deliver medical services directly to our communities. While the position is based out of our Kapaʻa clinic, this role is mobile in nature and requires flexibility to work at various community locations depending on the daily schedule. The Clinic Receptionist will perform traditional front-desk and patient service responsibilities while supporting operations within a mobile healthcare setting.

Schedule

Wednesday 11am-5pm
Friday 12pm-5pm
Sunday 12pm-5pm

In addition, the role includes four (4) administrative hours per week, which may be scheduled flexibly based on operational needs.

There may also be opportunities to pick up additional hours as available, depending on clinic demands and staffing needs.

The Clinic Receptionist I (Regional), under the supervision of the designated supervisor, welcomes patients to the clinics or outpatient services unit; interviews patients or accompanying parties to obtain required data; inputs information into computer system; schedule appointments, diagnostic studies, outpatient procedures and referrals; performs a variety of fiscal record keeping and clerical services; prepares, collects, files and maintains patient medical records; types and maintains related records; and performs other duties as required. This position is subject to work on weekends and/or holidays and may be required float to any clinic site in the region as needed.

General Experience: Two (2) years experience of responsible typing, stenographic, substantive clerical work, or any combination of these experiences which duties demonstrated knowledge of English grammar, spelling, arithmetic, common office appliances and equipment; and the ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, carry out procedures in clerical work systems, speak and write simply and directly, observe differences in copy and proofread words and numbers quickly and accurately, and operate various kinds of office equipment; and ability to deal effectively with others in eliciting information and providing service.

Licensure: Possession of a current, valid State of Hawai’i driver’s license,

Pay: From $20.80 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
