Regional Capital Project Manager - Decatur, IL
Job Summary
The Regional Capital Project Manager will lead and manage a capital project portfolio supporting a business unit at the Decatur, IL complex.
This position will lead project managers and key stakeholders to meet or exceed expectations for project scope, schedule, and budget on a strategic portfolio of projects critical for business success. In this role, you will ensure high-quality work for projects ranging in size from 1 to 50 million dollars with high financial impact and significance with an annual spend portfolio of up to 100 million dollars.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial engineering, project management, and a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities

Coordination and resourcing of appropriate project management staffing utilizing both internal and external resources accounting for the overall size, risk and complexity of the projects in the portfolio

Lead a team of project managers and other capex resources varying in experience to partner with the business areas and (key) stakeholders to manage expectations of the capital project portfolio outcomes across several business and/or various geographical areas

Monitoring and coaching of project teams for quality and compliance with ADM FEL process principles and appropriate project governance in support of Peer Review and other project risk mitigation efforts

Creation and support of professional development plans for direct reports to enhance their skills as identified for future potential opportunities within the company

Support project scope and plan for delivery for projects according to roles & responsibility matrix

Execute projects as required, including costing and implementation according the FEL guidelines

Assuring monthly project reporting to the stakeholders from the project teams are timely and of high quality

Monitoring of team performance with regards to best practices such as timely capitalization, closure of projects, and appropriate escalation when required for schedule and/or budgetary concerns

Ensuring compliance to local legislation and ADM requirements like IPPC permits, safety legislation, HACCP, GMP, HAZOP as well as TPS policy

Supporting and driving contractor safety

Scope change and risk management escalation processes

Complying with local legislation and ADM requirements for permitting, safety legislation, quality assurance, HACCP, GMP, HAZOP as well as TPS policy

Supporting and driving contractor safety using preventative action plans and safety metrics

Assure that the safety and reliability of existing equipment is considered during project implementation

Coordination, support, and mentoring of project teams engaging in EPC or EPCM delivery models with key selected partners
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or similar technical discipline
-
Minimum of 15 years managing several industrial projects of high to extreme complexity
-
Management experience leading and coordinating the efforts of technical teams driving business value

Knowledge of cost engineering and key performance indicators

Knowledge of industrial process project planning and scheduling with multi-craft trades, “S” Curves

Familiarity with the use of Microsoft Project, Primavera or other resource loaded scheduling tools

Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices
-
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
-
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure

Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and safety standards

Ability to work with multiple Engineering, EPC and/or General Contractor companies executing under a variety of contractual methodologies
Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree, Master’s or higher
- PMP or similar certification
- Food industry experience

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
The pay range for this position is expected to be between:
$121,400.00 - $225,100.00
Salaried Incentive Plan
The total compensation package for this position will also include annual bonus and a long-term incentive plan
