Position Overview
Job Summary:
This position is for an experieinced and driven and results-oriented National Distribution Channel Sales Manager to spearhead the growth and profitability of our sales through developing new channels to align with company strategy. You will be responsible for developing strategic partnerships, managing distributor relationships, and driving sales through effective channel programs. The role is primarily focused on new electrical channels but will have some occasional engagement responsibilities for supporting our existing electronics channels, as well. In addition, the role will include support and collaboration with VP Sales & Marketing for special assignments, including contract negotiations support.
- Sales Enablement: Build and manage a network of existing and new distributor partners nationally to expand market reach. Equip distributors for success by conducting and coordinating onboarding and product training events for their sales and marketing teams.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate strong, mutually beneficial relationships with new and existing distributors and industry contacts, fostering open communication and collaboration.Coordinate with manufacturer rep sales and direct sales teams to develop channel awareness for initiatives and joint customer coordination for sales projects.
- Industry Engagement: Represent the company at industry events and participate in relevant associations to build brand awareness and forge new partnerships within the distribution landscape.
- Pricing: Negotiate pricing and develop programs with distributors to drive profitability, while increasing engagement from distributor partners, to meet company sales goals
- Market & Sales Analysis: Analyze sales data, identify trends, and develop insights to optimize channel performance and identify new sales opportunities.
- Management Reporting: Prepare monthly reports and present findings, project summaries and proposals to management. Maintain sales forecasting and budget analysis.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work seamlessly across multiple company departments (sales, engineering, accounting, marketing, product management, manufacturing operations, etc), to break down barriers and drive growth.
- Contract management: Take the lead in negotiation and markups for contracts, as assigned by the management team.
- Marketing & Promotions: Collaborate with marketing to develop marketing budgets, initiatives and promotions to drive product awareness and demand through the distribution channel and at industry events.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in national channel sales and distribution management
- Experience working with electrical, industrial, or automation distributors
- Proven track record of driving revenue through indirect sales channels
- Strong relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills
- Experience engaging with decision-makers, including executive-level stakeholders
- Ability to travel up to 50%
- Familiarity with relays, switching devices, or electromechanical components
- Experience managing multi-state or national territories
