Full Job Description

The Evidence-Based Intervention for Diabetes Prevention research program seeks a highly organized and motivated Research Coordinator to support two projects focused on diabetes prevention and healthy aging. The first project is a culturally adapted diabetes prevention program for adults at risk for diabetes in the United Arab Emirates. The second project is a qualitative study exploring barriers and facilitators to participation in virtual nutrition and physical activity programs among Irish farming communities. The Research Coordinator will work closely with Dr. Jeannette Beasley and collaborating investigators in the United States, UAE, and Ireland to support institutional review board application, participant recruitment, data collection, intervention implementation, qualitative and quantitative data management, regulatory compliance, and dissemination activities.

This position is ideal for an individual interested in public health, nutrition, behavioral interventions, implementation science, aging, and chronic disease prevention.

Position Responsibilities:

Project Coordination and Administration

Coordinate day-to-day research activities across multiple international projects.
Schedule and organize meetings with investigators, staff, community partners, and advisory groups.
Maintain study timelines, recruitment logs, regulatory documents, and project records.
Assist with preparation of IRB and ethics submissions, continuing reviews, protocol amendments, and study reports.

Participant Recruitment and Retention

Support recruitment through community organizations, social media, email campaigns, and stakeholder networks.
Coordinate participant communications, scheduling, consent procedures, and follow-up activities.
Track enrollment, retention, and participation metrics.

Data Collection and Management

Conduct or assist with semi-structured interviews and focus groups.
Manage Zoom-based data collection activities.
Coordinate survey administration and collection of study measures.
Prepare interview recordings and oversee transcription processes.
Maintain secure databases and ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements.
Assist with data cleaning, coding, and quality assurance procedures.

Qualitative Research Activities

Support development and refinement of interview guides and study materials.
Assist with qualitative coding and thematic analysis using NVivo or similar software.
Maintain coding documentation and audit trails.

Intervention Support

Assist with implementation of virtual lifestyle intervention activities.
Coordinate participant orientation sessions and intervention communications.
Monitor attendance and engagement.
Assist with preparation of educational materials and intervention resources.

Dissemination

Conduct literature reviews
Assist with preparation of manuscripts, conference abstracts, presentations, reports, and community dissemination materials.
Support preparation of grant applications and progress reports.
Contribute to dissemination activities with academic and community partners.

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly base rate for this position is $30-$40/hour. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

Per NYU's remote-work policy, this position is expected to be hybrid.

This position with be responsible for supervising and managing 2 undergraduate students, as well as any other students who join the team.

Required :

Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Psychology, Sociology, Health Sciences, Epidemiology, or a related field.
At least 1 year of research experience (academic, clinical, or community-based).
Experience coordinating projects and managing multiple deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and REDCap or similar data management systems.
Experience with IRB submissions and human subjects research.
Ability to work independently and collabortively within interdisciplinary teams.

Preferred:

Master's degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Social Sciences, or related field.
Experience with qualitative research methods, including interviewing and thematic analysis.
Experience using NVivo, Dedoose, Atlas.ti, or similar qualitative analysis software.
Experience working on behavioral interventions, chronic disease prevention, nutrition, aging, or implementation science projects.
Familiarity with Zoom, REDCap, and statistical software (R, SAS, SPSS, or Stata).
Experience working with diverse or international populations.
