Our research focuses primarily on corn, cotton, rice, soybean, and peanut production, with occasional specialty crop projects. We evaluate the efficacy of herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, fertilizers, biostimulants, and biological products across multiple cropping systems.
Position Summary
Stoneville R & D, Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate to join our research team in Greenville, Mississippi. This position will support Research Scientists in the planning, execution, and management of agricultural field research trials while ensuring the highest standards of data quality and protocol compliance.
The ideal candidate will have a strong agricultural background, a willingness to learn, and the ability to execute research protocols with precision and minimal supervision following training.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Research Scientists in conducting row crop agricultural research trials.
- Manage trial applications and field maintenance activities.
- Ensure the quality, accuracy, and integrity of research data and trial execution.
- Maintain and organize laboratories, laboratory equipment, and research supplies.
- Assist the Farm Manager with maintenance and upkeep of farm equipment.
- Assist with maintenance and upkeep of company facilities and research sites.
- Participate in annual meetings, industry conferences, and sponsor events to build and maintain relationships with current and prospective research sponsors.
- Follow company safety procedures and research protocols at all times.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in an agriculture-related field preferred; OR
- 3–5 years of experience in agricultural field research or a closely related field.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to perform outdoor field work in varying weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel occasionally for meetings and conferences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Self-motivated and eager to learn.
- Ability to execute detailed research protocols accurately and consistently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
- Capable of working with minimal supervision after training.
- Experience operating agricultural equipment is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $40,000–$65,000 annually, depending on education, qualifications, and experience.
