The QA Specialist is responsible for monitoring the entire production and packaging process to ensure all operations comply with company standards and cGMP regulations. You will conduct on-site sampling, review documentation, and verify that every finished batch meets strict quality specifications.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- In-Process Quality Control (IPQC): Perform regular audits on the packaging lines, checking bottle weights, seal integrity, label accuracy, and lot number clarity. Conduct Line Clearance verifications to prevent cross-contamination during product switchovers.
- Documentation & Record Review: Accurately complete and review Batch Production Records (BPRs) and related QA logs. Ensure all documentation strictly adheres to cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) guidelines.
- Material & Finished Goods Inspection: Perform visual inspections and sampling on incoming raw materials, packaging components, and finished products. Verify that label content matches specifications.
- Deviations & Corrective Actions: Immediately halt production lines and report to management upon detecting any deviations or quality anomalies. Assist in investigating quality issues and following up on Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Compliance & Safety Maintenance: Monitor employee compliance with hygienic practices (e.g., proper gowning, handwashing protocols). Help maintain cleanliness and safety standards across the production floor.
Role Impact
- Serve as the final line of defense before products are shipped to customers.
- Ensure the manufacturing process remains fully compliant with US FDA and industry regulations.
- Reduce material waste and rework rates through rigorous and proactive monitoring.
Job Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred).
- Experience: Prior QA/QC experience in the food, pharmaceutical, or dietary supplement industry is preferred. Familiarity with cGMP or ISO quality management systems is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Detail-Oriented: Exceptional observational skills with the ability to spot minor packaging defects.
- Language: Strong English reading and writing skills (required for reading English SOPs and completing technical reports).
- Math: Basic mathematical proficiency for sampling statistics and weight verifications.
- Key Traits: Principled and confident to speak up when quality issues arise. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with the production department. Ability to maintain patience and focus in a fast-paced production environment.

- Work Environment: Primarily within an indoor, climate-controlled (temperature and humidity) production and packaging cleanroom environment.
