Full Job Description

Responsibilities

The Rheumatology telemedicine physician will:

Provide inpatient consultative rheumatology services for hospitalized patients through a secure telemedicine platform.
Perform remote evaluations, clinical assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning for complex rheumatologic conditions.
Review patient records, laboratory data, and imaging to support clinical decision-making.
Prescribe medications and treatment regimens appropriate to the patient’s medical condition.
Provide physician-to-physician consultation to hospitalists, emergency department providers, and inpatient teams.
Offer medical guidance to onsite nursing staff and collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams.
Maintain strong working relationships with onsite medical providers engaged in inpatient patient care.
Document patient encounters, assessments, and treatment plans within the hospital’s EMR.
Demonstrate excellent clinical judgment, communication skills, and professionalism in a remote consultative environment.

Minimum Job Requirements

Board Certified in Rheumatology (required).
Active and unrestricted medical license in at least one U.S. state.
Medical Doctor (MD or DO) with completion of Internal Medicine residency and Rheumatology fellowship training.
3–5 years of clinical experience, including experience managing complex rheumatologic conditions in inpatient or consultative settings.
Federal DEA certification.
Experience navigating multiple EMR systems and strong technical proficiency with secure telemedicine platforms and video conferencing tools.
Ability to collaborate effectively with hospital-based care teams in a remote consultative model.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $100,000.00 - $400,000.00 per year
