RN OR | Night Shift | 13‑Week Contract | Oak Lawn, IL

PEL/VIP is seeking two experienced RN OR professionals for a fast‑paced, high‑acuity surgical environment in Oak Lawn, Illinois. This assignment is ideal for an RN OR who thrives in trauma settings, can scrub and circulate confidently, and is comfortable managing a wide variety of complex surgical cases. Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 8‑hour Nights (Sun–Thurs, 10:45 PM–7:15 AM)
Pay Range: $74–$79 per hour

Job Description

This role supports a high‑volume OR performing 60–75 cases per day, including trauma, inpatient, outpatient, and pediatric cases (approximately 20% pediatrics). The RN OR must be able to scrub and circulate, work confidently in trauma situations, and function effectively in a fast‑paced surgical environment with a wide range of specialties.

Key Responsibilities

Scrub and circulate across a wide range of surgical specialties
Provide care for adult and pediatric patients
Work confidently in trauma and high‑acuity cases
Support inpatient, outpatient, and emergency surgical procedures
Utilize EPIC for documentation
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative teams

Qualifications & Skills

Minimum 2–3 years of acute care experience
Trauma experience required (Level 1 or Level 2 preferred)
Critical care experience preferred
Must be able to scrub and circulate
Comfortable with a wide variety of surgical cases, including:
Trauma (GSW, stabbings)
Transplants (kidney, heart)
General surgery, GYN, urology
Orthopedic, neuro, vascular
Robotics
Open‑heart cases
EPIC experience required

Required Credentials

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
BLS
EPIC EMR experience
