Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Pediatric RN for a night shift Pediatric Intermediate Care Unit (PIMC) role in Oregon, requiring active OR licensure, vent experience, and a willingness to take charge assignments.

Details

Position is in a Pediatric Intermediate Care Unit (PIMC) within a hospital setting
Provides intermediate-level care for medical/surgical patients ages 0–18, excluding obstetric patients
Patient populations include non-ICU neurosurgical, video EEG and spectrum scan, peritoneal dialysis, chronic trach/ventilated, select hyperbilirubinemia, select cardiac surgery, complex post-op (orthopedic spine, cranis, bladder augmentations), and research patients
Ventilator management is a core part of the role
Charge RN duties may be required on some shifts
Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
Floating to a nearby affiliate hospital may be required; refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation
Epic EMR experience required
Local candidates are accepted at the same rate; no radius restriction applies

Requirements

Active Oregon (OR) RN license required
Current BLS and PALS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience required
Pediatric charge RN experience required
Ventilator experience required
Epic EMR experience required
Two manager or supervisor references from an employer within the last 24 months required (charge RN references are not acceptable)
COVID vaccination required; no exemptions
EVD or peritoneal dialysis (PD) experience preferred

Care delivery is consistent with the Oregon Nurse Practice Act, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, and ANA Code of Ethics
Nurses are expected to demonstrate professional roles as scientist, leader, practitioner, and knowledge transferor
Commitment to a Culture of Safety, including Just Culture, Reporting Culture, Learning Culture, and Engaged Informed Culture is expected
Former employees or previous travelers at this facility must provide a reference from their supervising manager there, which will be reviewed by the incoming reporting manager
Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have been gone for at least 6 months to be eligible to return as a traveler
RTO requests must be submitted at time of consideration and may not exceed 2 weeks
