Full Job Description

Prospect Hill Recovery and Wellness Center is currently seeking RNs to join our roster of per diem nurses at our recovery and wellness center.

Registered Nurse Job Description

Registered nurses in this position work with clients recovering from substance abuse, trauma and other mental wellbeing issues. The Registered Nurse administers infusion therapy, monitors and records results for physicians, and coordinates services with lab and other entities participating in client care.

Role and Responsibilities

Registered Nurse

· Provide systemic therapy, infusion treatments, administering drugs and solutions

· Receives orders from physicians and schedules appointments for clients

· Receives patients, explains procedures, checks vital signs and administers therapy, monitors reactions, and reports to physicians

· Work collaboratively with the lead physician and the Prospect Hill team to provide clinical guidance

· Maintain records for physicians and billing purposes

· Interview patients and complete full comprehensive medical history and physical examination within required timeframes

· Document all information relative to patient's history physical examination assessment and treatment plan following clinic policy and standards

· Respond to complex situations in a calm competent and professional manner; assist in the event of a highly unlikely medical emergency

· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Education, Experience and Preferred Qualifications

· United States Virgin Islands Registered Nurse License

· BLS Certification required and ACLS Certification required

· Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards

· Knowledge of treatment procedures, facilities and equipment preferred

· Knowledge of the nature and treatments and of reactions and side effects of related therapy methods

· Prior experience working with individuals with substance abuse or behavioral health issues is a plus

· Strong understanding of behavior analysis principles and experience implementing behavior intervention strategies

· Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to provide clear instructions and feedback to clients

· Worked collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team setting to coordinate comprehensive care for clients

· Willingness to adapt to the changing needs and dynamics of an inpatient treatment facility

· Dependable transportation and availability to work shifts as assigned

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position often requires lifting and carrying materials and weighing up to 50 lbs. Walking, standing, for long periods are common. The work environment characteristics can be stressful, fast-paced and requires alertness and flexibility.
