Full Job Description

Position Summary
The Method Plastic Surgery is seeking an experienced and dependable PACU / Post-Op/Pre-op Registered Nurse to join our surgical team. This role is responsible for providing safe, attentive, and high-quality post-anesthesia and post-operative care to patients recovering from surgical procedures. The ideal candidate is clinically strong, observant, calm under pressure, and experienced in monitoring patients through the immediate recovery phase.

This position requires a strong understanding of post-surgical recovery, patient assessment, pain management, discharge readiness, and timely escalation of any clinical concerns. Candidates with experience in PACU, surgical recovery, ICU, or med-surg with post-op exposure are encouraged to apply.

Schedule

Monday through Friday
Alternate weekends required

Compensation

$36–$40/hour, based on experience

Employment Status

W-2 or 1099 option available

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care during the immediate post-operative recovery phase
Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures
Assess and document vital signs, pain levels, airway status, consciousness, and overall recovery progress
Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition or post-operative complications
Administer medications and treatments as ordered and within scope of practice
Ensure safe discharge preparation and reinforce post-operative instructions to patients and caregivers
Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, clinical staff, and patients’ families as appropriate
Maintain accurate, timely, and complete nursing documentation
Support patient safety, comfort, privacy, and continuity of care throughout the recovery process
Follow all clinical protocols, infection control standards, and safety procedures
Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and properly stocked recovery area
Preparing patients for surgery.
Performing pre-operative assessments and documentation.

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Active BLS certification required
Active ACLS certification required
Minimum 1 year of experience in a PACU setting, surgical setting, ICU, or med-surg with post-op experiencerequired
Minimum 1 year of hospital experience preferred
Strong post-operative assessment and monitoring skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment
Excellent clinical judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills
Bilingual preferred
