Full Job Description

SHR Talent is partnering with an acute care healthcare client in Tallahassee, Florida in its search for a Free Standing Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN). This is a permanent, full-time opportunity offering comprehensive benefits and multiple shift options, including Days, Nights, and Mid Shifts with rotating weekends. The organization is seeking compassionate and highly skilled emergency nurses who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care.

The Free Standing Emergency Room RN will provide direct patient care to individuals of all ages presenting with a wide range of conditions, from minor illnesses and injuries to critical and life-threatening emergencies. This role requires strong clinical judgment, exceptional multitasking abilities, and the ability to remain calm and focused while managing multiple patient needs simultaneously.

The ideal candidate will possess recent emergency department or critical care experience and demonstrate a commitment to patient safety, teamwork, and evidence-based nursing practice. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative emergency care environment while making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes within the community.

Responsibilities:

Triage, assess, and provide nursing care to patients of all ages presenting with emergent and non-emergent conditions
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care based on patient needs and clinical presentation
Prioritize and manage multiple patients simultaneously in a fast-paced emergency care setting
Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes in status, and initiate appropriate interventions
Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR)
Ensure compliance with patient safety standards, infection prevention practices, and regulatory requirements
Respond effectively to emergency situations utilizing critical thinking and sound clinical judgment
Support departmental goals related to patient satisfaction, quality outcomes, and operational excellence

Qualifications:

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Registered Nurse Diploma required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start date
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required prior to start date
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days of hire
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 90 days of hire
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification required within 90 days of hire
Minimum of one year of recent Emergency Department RN experience required
Critical Care RN experience will be considered in lieu of Emergency Department experience
Strong assessment, critical thinking, prioritization, and clinical decision-making skills
Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care abilities
Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred
