Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Sales Manager to support the daily operations and strategic growth of our retail store. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, sales, and organizational skills, with a proven track record in retail management. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop managerial expertise while contributing to a customer-focused environment. The Assistant Sales Manager will be responsible for supervising staff, managing sales activities, and ensuring excellent customer service across all store functions. Candidates with multilingual abilities and previous supervisory experience are highly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including sales, inventory control, and staff management
Lead and motivate sales team members to achieve individual and team sales goals through effective training and coaching
Manage employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, and onboarding processes to build a strong team
Supervise shift management, cashiering, POS operations, and customer service interactions to ensure a seamless shopping experience
Oversee merchandising, stocking, pricing strategies, and promotional activities to maximize sales potential
Handle payroll processing, bookkeeping tasks, and basic budgeting responsibilities
Maintain inventory management systems and ensure accurate inventory control and loss prevention measures
Implement marketing initiatives to attract new customers and retain existing clientele
Ensure compliance with company policies regarding cash handling, safety procedures, and store standards
Foster a positive work environment by providing leadership in training & development programs and performance evaluations
Communicate effectively with team members and customers using excellent phone etiquette and organizational skills

Qualifications

Proven experience in assistant management or supervisory roles within retail sales or grocery stores
Strong knowledge of retail math, pricing strategies, sales management, inventory management, and POS systems
Excellent negotiation, communication skills, and leadership abilities with a focus on team management and customer service excellence
Bilingual or multilingual skills are preferred to serve diverse customer bases effectively
Demonstrated experience in recruiting, training & development, merchandising, stock management, and marketing strategies
Proficiency in administrative tasks such as payroll processing, bookkeeping, budgeting, and inventory control
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently across multiple responsibilities
Previous experience with wireless sales or grocery store operations is advantageous
Ability to handle cash handling procedures accurately while maintaining professionalism in phone etiquette and customer interactions
A minimum of an assistant manager or related supervisory experience is required
