Overview
We are seeking a skilled Panel Wiring Technician to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing electrical panels and electro-mechanical components in accordance with detailed schematics and blueprints. This role is essential for ensuring the reliable operation of electrical systems used across various industrial applications. The ideal applicant will possess strong electrical assembly skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to interpret complex technical drawings to deliver high-quality, compliant electrical panels.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to accurately assemble electrical panels.
- Wire and connect electrical components such as circuit breakers, relays, contactors, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) using hand tools and power tools.
- Perform surface mount technology (SMT) assembly and soldering on electro-mechanical components following IPC 610 standards.
- Conduct mechanical assembly tasks, including machining with calipers and other precision measurement tools.
- Test completed panels using ohmmeters, multimeters, and other testing equipment to verify electrical continuity and proper operation.
- Troubleshoot electrical wiring issues and rectify wiring errors or component failures through engineering troubleshooting techniques.
- Follow blueprint specifications meticulously to ensure compliance with safety standards and quality requirements.
- Assist in the assembly of control panels by following detailed manufacturing instructions while adhering to strict quality protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation of wiring configurations, test results, and modifications for quality assurance purposes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements related to electrical assembly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in electrical panel building, electronics assembly, or related manufacturing roles.
- Strong understanding of PCB (Printed Circuit Board) assembly processes and surface mount technology.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Hands-on experience with soldering techniques adhering to IPC 610 standards.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and their integration into control systems.
- Ability to use hand tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, screwdrivers, as well as power tools safely and effectively.
- Mechanical knowledge including machining skills with calipers or micrometers for precise measurements.
- Experience with testing instruments like ohmmeters or multimeters for troubleshooting electrical circuits.
- Knowledge of electro-mechanical components and their application within control panels.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for documentation accuracy.
- Ability to follow detailed blueprints and schematic diagrams accurately in a fast-paced environment.
