We need an EXPERIENCED operations person to lead our fintech startup.
You'll build the systems to help us scale as a team, ensure cross-department communication, and grow our company culture.
The Head of Operations is the CEO's right hand and the company's operating backbone.
You make sure the whole company runs - turning the CEO's priorities into action, holding the leadership team accountable to their KPIs and deadlines, and keeping the business moving with or without the CEO in the room.
This is a high-trust, high-ownership seat.
You won't manage a single department. You'll operate across all of them - coordinating our functional leaders, building the systems that keep us accountable, and freeing the CEO to focus on vision, content, and product.
What You'll Do
- Run the operating rhythm — own the daily huddles, weekly tacticals, and Monday all-hands: set agendas, capture decisions, and drive follow-through so nothing slips.
- Own the KPIs — build the KPIs for each department and hold each leader accountable to their top numbers and deadlines.
- Be the CEO's proxy — keep the company moving when the CEO travels; represent his priorities, unblock the team, and make the calls that can't wait.
- Drive cross-functional projects — take the important initiatives that have no clear owner and get them shipped.
- Build for scale — create the processes, tools, and accountability systems that let us rapidly scale
Note this is NOT an entry level position.

Minimum Requirements
- 7–12+ years across operations, strategy, or as an operator/founder - enough gravitas that senior leaders respect you.
- You've built it yourself. You personally build dashboards, run meetings, and close loops - not "I directed a team that did it." (At our size, there's no team under you yet.)
- Relentless follow-through — things don't die on your watch. You can point to concrete things you personally shipped.
- Be a servent leader —lead through service and trust, not title.
- Strong with numbers — you own KPIs and make decisions from data.
- AI-forward — you already use AI in your own work and are excited to run a company on it.
- High EQ, low ego, discretion — you represent a public founder, handle sensitive situations, and amplify the CEO without needing the spotlight.
- Thrives in ambiguity and moves fast — you turn chaos into structure.
- Based in Detroit or willing to relocate; in-office.

How much will I get paid?
