Job Overview
Join our Shear Ego International School of Hair Design Team as a Cleaning and Maintenance Specialist, where your energy and attention to detail will keep our facilities spotless, safe, and welcoming. In this vital role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation/disinfection standards across various environments, ensuring a positive experience for staff, visitors, and clients alike. Your proactive approach will help uphold the highest levels of sanitation, safety, and presentation in a diverse educational institution. Light maintenance around the school will be required, as well.
Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning routines including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces in designated areas.
- Maintain restrooms by replenishing supplies, disinfecting fixtures, and ensuring hygiene standards are met consistently.
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards and report issues promptly.
- Use specialized cleaning equipment and eco-friendly cleaning products to achieve optimal results across different environments.
- Follow established health and safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with sanitation regulations.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs or fixing leaks to support overall facility upkeep.
- Keep detailed records of cleaning schedules, maintenance activities, and safety checks for accountability.
Skills
- Proven experience in retail store, educational institution, and/or salon or spa environments cleaning or hospitality cleaning roles with a focus on high standards of sanitation and disinfection.
- Familiarity with cleaning procedures specific to hotels, educational institutions, hospitals, restaurants, or gyms is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate commercial cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to sanitation and facility maintenance.
- Reliable work ethic with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
- Clear communication skills to follow instructions accurately and report issues clearly.
- Knowledge and ability to complete light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, small repair jobs, hanging fixtures, etc.
