About The University Compliance Solution

The University Compliance Solution (UCS) is a higher education consulting firm specializing in accreditation compliance, gap analysis, substantive change applications, and Educator Preparation Program (EPP) compliance. We partner with compliance officers, VPs of Academic Affairs, provosts, and senior administrators to help institutions navigate complex accreditation and regulatory landscapes with confidence.

Position Overview

UCS is seeking a detail-oriented and self-directed Junior Accreditation Consultant to support client engagements on a contract basis. This is a project-based independent contractor role—work is assigned as client contracts are initiated and concludes when contracts are completed. Consultants are compensated only for active contract periods.

The Junior Consultant works under the direction of the Founder and does not serve as a primary client contact. You will provide critical backend analytical and project support that directly contributes to client outcomes, with weekly check-ins to ensure alignment and quality.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct accreditation gap analyses by comparing institutional policies, procedures, and operations against applicable accrediting body standards
Review and evaluate institutional documents, evidence, and submissions for compliance with state regulatory requirements
Support the self-study process, including evidence compilation, data collection management, and documentation organization
Assess university operations, policies, and procedures against multiple accrediting body requirements and flag areas of concern
Research and apply varied state regulatory requirements relevant to client institutions and program types
Assist in the preparation and review of accreditation applications and related submissions
Maintain organized, accurate project files and documentation throughout each client engagement
Participate in weekly status reporting with the Founder to communicate progress, flag risks, and confirm priorities
Adapt to client-specific platforms and software tools as required by each engagement

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor’s degree in any field (education, higher education administration, public policy, organizational management, or related disciplines are well-suited)
1–2 years of experience in higher education with demonstrated exposure to accreditation processes, compliance functions, or regulatory review
Working knowledge of accreditation standards and processes across varied accrediting bodies
Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate policies and procedures against defined criteria
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills—clarity, precision, and professionalism are essential in all deliverables
Solid project management skills, including the ability to manage timelines, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines independently
Proficiency with common productivity and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace)
Comfort learning and navigating new software platforms as required by individual client engagements (e.g., accreditation management systems, institutional data platforms)
Reliable internet access and the ability to work independently in a remote environment

Preferred

Familiarity with accreditation management or compliance software such as Weave, Anthology Portfolio, or Slate
Experience supporting self-study preparation, substantive change submissions, or Educator Preparation Program (EPP) compliance
Prior experience in a consulting, contract, or multi-client environment

What To Expect

Contract-based engagement: Work is tied to active client contracts. Hours and duration vary by project scope. There is no guaranteed minimum number of hours per week.
Weekly reporting: You will check in with the Founder weekly during active engagements to provide progress updates and receive direction.
Client-facing boundaries: Junior Consultants do not serve as primary points of contact for clients. All client communications are managed by the Founder.
Remote and flexible: This is a fully remote position. Work is performed asynchronously with structured weekly touchpoints.
