Position: Quality Assurance Analyst III
Department: Enterprise Applications
Reports To: Senior Manager, Software Engineering
FLSA: Exempt
The Quality Assurance Analyst III is a senior-level quality engineering role responsible for leading testing strategy, execution, and quality practices across software development initiatives. This role is embedded within delivery teams and works closely with software engineers, technical program managers, and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality, scalable, and reliable solutions.
The Quality Assurance Analyst III is responsible for designing and executing comprehensive test strategies, driving defect prevention, and advancing automation and continuous testing practices. This role emphasizes building quality into the development lifecycle through early engagement, strong collaboration, and proactive risk identification.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Quality Strategy & Test Leadership
- Define and implement test strategies for complex applications and system integrations
- Lead test planning efforts, including scope, approach, environments, and coverage
- Apply risk-based testing techniques to prioritize testing efforts
- Ensure quality is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Test Execution & Defect Management
- Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing
- Identify, document, and manage defects using tracking tools (e.g., Jira)
- Lead defect triage and collaborate with engineering teams to drive resolution
- Validate defect fixes and ensure production readiness
Automation & Continuous Testing
- Design, build, and maintain automated test suites where applicable
- Identify opportunities for automation to improve efficiency and coverage
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery
- Promote shift-left testing practices to catch defects early
API, Integration, and Data Validation
- Perform API testing using tools such as Postman or similar
- Validate system integrations across platforms, vendors, and internal systems
- Conduct data validation testing to ensure accuracy and integrity across systems
- Support testing of complex financial and transactional workflows
Agile Delivery & Collaboration
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, refinement, retrospectives), as applicable
- Collaborate with software engineers, Technical Product Managers, and business stakeholders to refine requirements and acceptance criteria
- Ensure testability of user stories and acceptance criteria
- Provide input into backlog prioritization based on quality risk
Quality Metrics & Continuous Improvement
- Track and report on quality metrics (defect trends, test coverage, release quality)
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve product quality and team performance
- Identify gaps in test coverage and recommend improvements
- Drive continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and standards
User Experience & Release Readiness
- Validate that solutions meet business requirements and member expectations
- Support and guide user acceptance testing (UAT) efforts
- Ensure solutions are production-ready, stable, and aligned with quality standards
- Evaluate user experience and recommend enhancements where applicable
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure adherence to internal quality standards and development practices
- Support compliance with all Federal regulations including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)
- Incorporate compliance considerations into testing strategies and execution
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior QA analysts
- Assist in onboarding and training of QA team members
- Support cross-team QA initiatives and standards alignment
- Provide backup for team members where needed
- Other duties as assigned

Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the functions of the position required.
Experience and Other Requirements:
- 5 – 8+ years of experience in software quality assurance and testing.
- Strong experience designing and executing test strategies across complex systems
- Advanced experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments
- Hands-on experience with functional, integration, and regression testing
- Hands-on experience with defect tracking and lifecycle management
- Hands-on experience with test case design and execution
- Advanced experience with test automation tools/frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or equivalent)
- Advanced experience with API testing (e.g., Postman, REST services)
- Advanced experience validating system integrations and data workflows
- Experience with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and lead QA efforts within delivery teams
- Financial services or credit union experience is a plus, not required
Computer Skills:
- Proficient in the use of computers and standard office technology, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams).
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB, Certified Agile Tester) are a plus
