Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative SolidWorks Designer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and comprehensive CAD documentation to support product development and mechanical system design. Your expertise will help translate conceptual ideas into precise, manufacturable designs while ensuring compliance with industry standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects across various engineering disciplines, utilizing advanced CAD software and mechanical knowledge to drive excellence in design engineering.

Responsibilities

Develop detailed 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorks for a wide range of mechanical products and systems
Create accurate 2D drawings, schematics, and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) aligned with project specifications and industry standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate design inputs, review prototypes, and refine models for manufacturability
Prepare CAD documentation including technical reports, assembly instructions, and design revisions
Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles to ensure precision in manufacturing processes
Support system design efforts by utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools such as Revit, NavisWorks, or MicroStation when applicable
Conduct FEA (Finite Element Analysis) simulations to validate mechanical integrity and performance of designs

Qualifications

Proven experience in mechanical drafting, 2D CAD drafting, and 3D modeling for product design using SolidWorks or similar CAD software such as Creo, Autodesk Inventor, or Pro/ENGINEER
Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, including design of mechanical systems and system integration
Familiarity with CAD documentation standards, ASME codes & standards, and GD&T practices
Experience with Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), schematics, and technical writing is highly desirable
Proficiency in AutoCAD and other CAD tools like Revit, NavisWorks, MicroStation is a plus
Knowledge of construction experience or familiarity with building information modeling (BIM) tools enhances project collaboration
Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and system specifications accurately
Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in FEA analysis to optimize designs for strength and durability
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration within multidisciplinary teams
