Staff Archaeologist (Shreveport, Louisiana)

Cultural Resource Analysts, Inc. (CRA) is seeking qualified candidates to join our Louisiana office, and we are currently accepting applications for Staff Archaeologist. Our Louisiana office is located in Shreveport, in the heart of the Ark-La-Tex region, and was established in 2010 to support clients in Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Mississippi. This is a full-time, salaried position that is eligible for a hybrid work option.

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $50,000 to $60,000 annually; based on experience

Benefits: Full-time offers:

- Medical, Vision, Dental, Life (99% of employee medical coverage paid by employer)
- Flexible Spending Plan offered
- 401(k) (up to 5% employer matched)
- Life insurance (100% paid by employer)
- Supplemental insurance policies offered (short-term disability, cancer, hospitalization)
- Paid holidays (10 days per year)
- Paid Time Off (80 hours for Year 1; 120 hours for Year 2; and 160 hours for Year 3), and employees that have been with the company 10 years or more get 5 weeks (200 hours) of PTO
- Paid Family Leave. The latter would consist of new mothers and fathers both get one week paid leave. New mothers get a “short term disability” benefit that is paid by the company.
- Professional development stipend ($1,000 per year)
- Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA) annual renewal payment for Affiliated status

Experience: Minimum 3 years; PhD or MA in anthropology preferred

DESCRIPTION

CRA is seeking qualified candidates for a Staff Archaeologist position in our Shreveport, Louisiana, office. The ideal candidate will have a PhD or MA in anthropology with a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in cultural resource contracting, and will meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards (36 CFR Part 61) for archaeology. Other qualifications include excellent writing and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, and technological proficiency that includes some experience with GIS and relational databases. Qualified applicants will be registered with the Register of Professional Archaeologists, or will be eligible for RPA registration. It is imperative that candidates be able to work 8 to 10 hour days in a variety of field conditions. Stooping, bending, and lifting are essential functions of this position.
