Full Job Description

Nurse Practitioner (NP) – PRN
Location: Foreign Affairs Security Training Center (FASTC), Blackstone, VA
Employment Type: PRN (As Needed)

Position Overview

Sterling Medical is seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide PRN clinical services at the Foreign Affairs Security Training Center (FASTC) in Blackstone, Virginia. This position offers flexibility while supporting a unique federal training environment and delivering high-quality patient care.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced provider who can work independently, perform comprehensive assessments, and deliver evidence-based care in an outpatient clinical setting.

Schedule Details

PRN/As Needed
Daytime clinic hours
No nights
No weekends
No holidays
No on-call responsibilities

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive patient assessments and evaluations
Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions within scope of practice
Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results
Prescribe medications and treatments as appropriate
Develop and implement patient care plans
Provide health education and preventive care counseling
Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
Collaborate with clinic staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations and policies

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license
National certification as a Nurse Practitioner
Current DEA registration (if required for prescribing)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Minimum of one (1) year of Nurse Practitioner experience preferred
Strong clinical assessment, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently in an outpatient setting
