Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Engagement Manager to join us on an initial 3-month contract, with the potential to transition into a full-time role based on business needs and mutual fit.

The Engagement Manager is the day-to-day leader of client engagements—effectively acting as a mini-partner for assigned accounts. This individual will lead executive discussions, manage India-based analytics teams, and ensure Espalier's analytical work is translated into practical recommendations that clients implement.

The role requires someone who can quickly build credibility with senior executives, independently lead engagements, and deliver high-quality outcomes from day one.

Key Responsibilities

Client Leadership

Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for client engagements.
Lead weekly executive meetings with CEOs, CFOs, CROs, CCOs, and senior leadership teams.
Translate business challenges into structured analytical workstreams.
Present insights, recommendations, and strategic action plans to executive stakeholders.
Build trusted client relationships through proactive communication and consultative leadership.

Delivery Leadership

Lead and coordinate India-based analytics teams across multiple workstreams.
Own project plans, timelines, and delivery quality.
Ensure analyses are accurate, insightful, and aligned with client objectives.
Convert analytical outputs into actionable business recommendations that drive measurable impact.
Manage priorities and maintain execution excellence across concurrent engagements.

Commercial Support

Identify opportunities to expand existing client engagements.
Support proposal development and participate in business development discussions.
Facilitate executive workshops and strategic planning sessions.
Contribute to client growth initiatives and long-term account development.

Qualifications

Required

5–8 years of experience in strategy consulting or an equivalent strategic advisory role (e.g., Manager, Project Leader, or Engagement Manager).
Proven expertise in structured problem solving and executive communication.
Experience managing remote and/or offshore delivery teams.
Ability to independently lead client engagements in a fast-paced consulting environment.
Excellent stakeholder management, presentation, and project leadership skills.

Preferred

Experience with a Tier-1 or leading boutique strategy consulting firm.
Background in commercial excellence, growth strategy, pricing, or go-to-market initiatives.
Experience supporting M&A, commercial due diligence, or private equity value creation programs.
Familiarity with AI-enabled consulting workflows.
Experience in environmental services, industrials, or other PE-backed sectors.

Contract Details

Contract Duration: Initial 3-month engagement.
Potential Conversion: Opportunity to transition into a permanent full-time role based on performance and business requirements.
Start Date: Immediate / As soon as available.
Location: United States (remote with occasional client travel, as required).
