Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join a growing engineering team supporting complex industrial and commercial projects.

This role is responsible for leading structural engineering design efforts involving steel, concrete, and foundation systems while coordinating closely with multidisciplinary teams and clients throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Lead structural engineering and design activities for industrial and commercial projects
Perform steel, concrete, and foundation design calculations
Develop and review structural drawings, models, specifications, and engineering packages
Coordinate with geotechnical firms and interpret geotechnical reports for design implementation
Direct drafting and junior engineering staff
Support project planning, schedules, staffing forecasts, and budget development
Prepare bid packages and respond to construction and field inquiries
Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes and engineering standards
Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams

Qualifications

BS or MS degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Strong experience with structural steel and reinforced concrete design
Foundation design experience required
Experience using RISA or similar structural analysis software required
Familiarity with wind and seismic design principles
Experience leading engineering teams and mentoring junior staff
Strong understanding of structural engineering codes and standards including AISC, ACI, ASCE, and IBC
Experience developing engineering calculations, BOMs, specifications, and design packages
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Experience

Industrial, manufacturing, power generation, energy, or heavy commercial project experience
Experience supporting multidisciplinary engineering environments
Exposure to project scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning
