Project Manager- Electrical/ Structural Engineering

Project Manager, Engineering & Electrical Projects

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead engineering and electrical projects from planning through closeout. The ideal candidate will combine strong project management expertise with an engineering background to deliver complex projects on time, within budget, and to quality and safety standards. This role will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage client relationships, and drive execution in environments such as commercial construction, light industrial, data centers, power generation, and utilities.

Key Responsibilities

Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation for engineering and electrical projects.
Serve as primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders; manage expectations and communications throughout project lifecycle.
Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor progress, and implement corrective actions to meet milestones and budgets.
Manage procurement, contracts, and subcontractor performance; review scopes, change orders, and invoices.
Coordinate technical engineering and electrical work, ensuring designs are constructible, code-compliant, and meet client requirements.
Oversee site activities, conduct regular site visits, and enforce safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
Prepare and present regular project reports, risk assessments, and forecasts to senior management and clients.
Lead project closeout activities, including punch lists, commissioning support, documentation handover, and lessons learned.
Foster collaboration with structural, mechanical, and other discipline leads when required, and mentor junior staff to build team capability.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Engineering (Electrical, Structural, Civil) or related field; equivalent experience considered.
5+ years of project management experience in engineering or electrical construction projects.
Demonstrated expertise in electrical systems and construction execution.
Proven track record managing budgets, schedules, contracts, and client relationships.
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools; PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
Experience with structural coordination and construction in environments such as data centers, power generation, commercial construction, light industrial construction, or utilities is highly desirable.
Familiarity with codes, standards, commissioning processes, and safety regulations relevant to electrical and industrial projects.
Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Willingness to travel to project sites and work flexible hours as project demands require.
