Full Job Description

Position Overview

We are looking for a licensed, detail-oriented, and collaborative Structural Engineer to assist with evaluating, designing, and certifying structural plans for mainly residential design-build projects with some commercial occasionally. You’ll work closely with our interior designers, contractors, and consultants to ensure safety, feasibility, and compliance with building codes across Nevada &/or California.

Responsibilities

Review architectural and design concepts to assess structural feasibility
Provide stamped structural drawings and calculations as required
Collaborate with the Talie Jane Interiors and Construction teams on site visits, consultations, and plan development
Recommend framing modifications, reinforcements, or load-bearing adjustments
Ensure designs comply with all applicable local, state, and federal codes
Assist in permitting processes and respond to plan check comments from building departments
Offer expertise on foundation design, seismic requirements, and structural safety

Qualifications

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Nevada and/or California (required) with all certifications for stamping.
Minimum 3 years of residential structural engineering experience
Strong understanding of wood-framed construction, renovations, and luxury home design
Experience working with interior design or construction firms a strong plus
Proficient in structural analysis and CAD software
Excellent communication and time management skills
Reliable, responsive, and collaborative team player
