Full Job Description

Join our team of WINNERS! Southwest Shoulder Elbow & Hand Center is the 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 Reader's Choice Winner for Best Orthopaedic Practice in Tucson! That's 4 years in a row! Our busy practice has an immediate opening for a full-time Medical Assistant. This position performs a wide range of clinical and clerical duties to support to the physicians including surgery scheduling, taking patient vitals and health histories, assisting with procedures, stitch and cast application and removal, and other tasks under the direct supervision of the physicians.

General day-to-day duties include:
*Rooming/checking patients in and taking vitals and health histories.
*Stitch removal and casting.
*Processes prescription refills as directed by MD.
*Schedules surgeries, coordinates with facility, and obtains necessary insurance authorizations.
*Delivery of patient test results and follow up plans as directed by the MD.
*Responsible for telephone triage of patients calling in with medical questions.
*Sterilizes equipment used in direct patient care.
*Other clinical and clerical duties as instructed by MD.

Position requirements:
~One (1) year previous experience working as a medical assistant required, in the orthopedic specialty preferred.
~High school diploma or GED equivalent.
~Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program.
~Superior communication skills.
~Accuracy and attention to detail.
~Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and accomplish goals.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
